Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Spyshots

The present Ferrari 612 Scaglietti unlike most of its siblings can seat four adults comfortably was penned by Italdesign-Giugiaro S.P.A design studio back in 2006. Autoexpress brings us pictures of the upcoming version which seems to have its wheelbase extended slightly to offer more space to the passengers. According to them the next generation 612 Scaglietti 5.7-litre V12 will be upgraded to a direct-injectction 6.0-litre version boosting power from 540bhp to 600bhp. This translates into mind boogling performance where the 0-60mph sprint is done in less than four seconds with top speed hitting 200 mph.

Apart from the heart transplant, the Scaglietti will be fitted with a tweaked version of the seven-speed double-clutch gearbox first seen on the California that will work hand in hand with the engine to cut greenhouse gas emmisions & fuel consumption. Sales are expected to commence in 2011 bearing a price tag in the neighborhood of £225,000.

AutoAlert : Ferrari F458 debuts

The Successor of the F430 is now available in UK with a price tag no less then £175,000. It is the fastest and obviously most powerful Ferrari ever made with 0-60mph sprint of less than 3.5 seconds & going all the way to 203mph. The 4.5 liter V8 pumps out a mind blowing 570bhp at 9,000rpm while mated to a seven speed dual clutch gear box. According to insiders, this Ferrari was built to fend off fierce competition from the likes of Lamborghini & Audi that have seem to catch up on the prancing horse company in this exclusive segment.

Among the technological highlights that this machine carries includes specially design front air scoop to channel wind to the car's flat under tray that incorporates series of aerodynamic venturi tunnels. Ferrari's "e-diff" limited slip differential and adjustable F1-Trac traction control system together with the downforce those venturi tunnels generate at high speed ensures the car sticks to the tarmac like a Gecko. To enhance the design 'wow' factor, Pininfarina decided include LED technology into the headlamp while minimizing gaps on the body through cutting edge technology. This is truly an italian masterpiece at its best.

AutoAlert : Alfa Romeo Milano

Successor to the Alfa Romeo 147 was caught on the factory floor fully undisguised. Seems to me, the new Milano bears alot of similarities with the Lancer Hatchback can be seen from the rear. The shape of the tail-lamp reminds me of hair-dryers which on the Milano looks like they are in a position to battle each other. The front headlights houses LED bulbs which could very well be Alfa's version of the daytime running light or just the indicator lamp. Step into the cabin and one will notice a generous amount of what looks like brushed aluminium. I can't help but to think the interior design has been influence by that of the Lancer too. Oh yeah if you take a look of the first picture properly you will be able to see a Lancia Delta in the background.

The Fiat 500C is available with these engine options:

• 1.3 litre 75 hp MultiJet Turbodiesel mated to a 5-speed manual
• petrol units are a 1.2 liter and a 1.4 liter with 69hp and 100hp respectively
  

The pretty bug will also get the Start & Stop system to further reduce fuel consumption. My only concern is the poor visibility the driver might face when the top is down.

First impresion

• Fiat's 500 has been a massive success. Though half of sales are in Italy,
  it's sold in 51 countries and there is still a waiting list. The 500 has
  successfully taken on the Mini and seems to be beating it at its own
  game.
  The 500C is the convertible version but it's not a convertible in the
  conventional sense, more of a giant fabric sunroof that slides right back to the
  boot lid. The design is a homage to the original 500 of the 1950s which used the
  same principle. The advantage is that this is more useable than a regular
  convertible on a day-to-day basis, because occupants are well protected from
  wind buffeting even with the roof in its most open of the three positions. The
  downside is that it costs £3,000 more than a regular 500 hatch.
  Fiat says
  extra equipment accounts for the part of this. The 500C Pop gets aircon over the
  hatch, the Lounge even more. Still, even if the real difference is only £2,000
  to £2,500, that seems an awful lot to pay for what is, effectively, a giant
  sunroof......
