AutoAlert:Ford's Trio Capri,Focus & Kuga Coupe set blaze the streets soon

The upcoming Focus, Capri & Kuga Coupe from Ford set to take the kinetic design language to a new high with its stunning looks. Being an establish model for Ford in the European region, Ford decided its time to offer a variant of the Kuga that mimics the BMW X6 that was responsible for this new segment of Coupe like SUV. Kuga owners will find themselves garnering attention on the street without resorting to an empty wallet at the end of their ownership period. According to Autoexpress :

Engine Options:
· New turbocharged EcoBoost 1.6-litre petrol, producing 148bhp or 178bhp
· New 1.6 TDCi diesel with 128bhp output
· Flagship 2.0-litre with 168bhp or 197bhp
Transmission Options:
· Powershift twin-clutch gearbox
· Standard manual with 6 speed

Watch out Scirocco and the Renault Mégane Coupé because Ford is sending its candidate to the Battlefield to give both of their competitors a hard time. Targeted at the style conscious youth, the Ford Capri is also practical at the same time. It is basically a 3-Door version of the upcoming Focus and bear striking resemblance to the Iosis MAX concept which made its debut at the march Geneva Motor Show.

The Capri’s sporty demeanor is further boosted by the LED headlights, aggressive set of lower air intakes. The low roofline, high waistline and the obligatory large alloy wheels make this model look like a thorough bred compact sports car. To top it all up a class-leading chassis that offers more grip & agility without resulting in a sore bump after a long journey. The interior will feature the improved version of Ford’s Human Machine Interface with an up market finish.

Ford claimed that its bread and butter model that is ever so popular on the streets of UK will be the most breathe taking family hatch to date. It’s the car that will make any parents feel young again on a field trip or just the everyday journey to the children’s school. The stunning & head turning Focus set to bring Ford’s image to the next level.

The picture says it all in terms of the design. Underpinning the new Focus is said to be an evolution of the current generation hence it is unlikely the model will grow much in size which is actually fine to me. Like the Capri, lots of effort will be channeled to ensure ride and refinement, without sacrificing the sharp steering and driver appeal for which the Focus has become famous for.

The cabin of the new Focus will also feature an improved version of Ford’s Human Machine Interface with Start-Stop technology across the range.

The three Models from Ford are rumored to be launch simultaneously in 2010 along with the C-Max compact MPV. These models could very well be global cars i.e. sold throughout the world. Hopefully our local distributor Sime Darby will bring these seductive beast in to give the Japs models a run for their money.
